The Edible Flower Mix Plant Pack includes Helen Mount Viola, Orange Calendula, Red Marigold, Sweet Alyssum, and Brush Strokes Viola—each with its own unique growing preferences. Here’s how to grow them successfully and enjoy their beauty and flavour.
🌸 Helen Mount Viola
Flavour & Use
Delicate, mildly fragrant flavour. Perfect in teas, fruit juices, and as garnishes for hot dishes, salads, and baked goods.
Care Tips
- Growing Temperature: 15–21°C (60–70°F).
- Light: Moderate lighting preferred.
- Maintenance: Thin down to 1–2 seedlings per pod once germinated.
- Pruning & Harvesting: Starts blooming around day 28. Deadhead fading flowers by snipping the stem above the nearest healthy leaves to encourage more blooms throughout the growing cycle.
🌸 Orange Calendula
Flavour & Use
Bright petals add a slightly bitter, spicy touch to salads, teas, and hot dishes. Leaves are edible but bitter.
Care Tips
- Growing Temperature: 15–21°C (60–70°F).
- Light: Prefers strong light, tolerates moderate.
- Maintenance: Thin to 1 seedling. Pinch back tips once plants reach 6 inches (15 cm) for bushier growth. Place on bottom level of the device to allow space for tall stems.
- Pruning & Harvesting: Bloom begins ~30–40 days in. Deadhead weekly by trimming spent flowers above the nearest leaf junction. This redirects energy to new blooms.
🌸 Red Marigold
Flavour & Use
Petals add a citrusy, slightly spicy flavour to dishes. Leaves are edible but bitter. Excellent for garnishing or salad greens.
Care Tips
- Growing Temperature: Around room temp (21°C).
- Light: Prefers strong lighting.
- Maintenance: Thin to 1–2 seedlings. Marigolds grow tall and bushy (up to 20 inches or 50 cm), so pinch back stems to keep them compact and avoid overcrowding.
- Pruning & Harvesting: Begin deadheading after 60 days once blooms wilt. Trim at the base of the flower stem above healthy leaves to keep blooms coming for up to a month.
🌸 Sweet Alyssum
Flavour & Use
Sweet, honey-scented flowers great in salads, omelets, or frozen in ice cubes for drinks. Leaves and flowers are edible with a pungent flavour.
Care Tips
- Growing Temperature: 18–24°C (65–75°F).
- Light: Moderate to bright.
- Maintenance: Thin to 1–2 seedlings. Plant prefers cooler conditions. Place in the middle level of the Indoor Garden.
- Pruning & Harvesting: Blooms begin around 45–55 days. Trim back the top third of the plant after first bloom flush. Deadhead fading flower clusters to promote further flowering.
🌸 Brush Strokes Viola
Flavour & Use

Care Tips
