Getting your plants off to the right start is the key to a successful harvest. Follow these simple steps to guide your plants from their first sprout to their fullest potential.
Step 1: Soak and Cover
After soaking all your pods in water, it’s very important to place a germination dome on each pod. These domes help create the perfect microclimate by maintaining:
- High humidity
- Consistent temperature
- Low air flow
This gives your seeds the ideal conditions for sprouting strong and healthy seedlings.
Step 2: Watch for Germination
After a few days (timing varies depending on each Plant Pack), you’ll receive a notification from the Plantaform app reminding you to check your garden.
Here’s what to look for:
- If you see small seedlings reaching toward the dome on all pods, it’s time to move on.
- Remove all domes and confirm the step in the app.
If some pods haven’t germinated yet, that’s okay! Wait a few more days—the app will remind you when it's time to move forward.
Rule of thumb:
- If a seedling is touching the dome, it's ready for the next stage.
Step 3: Thin the Seedlings
Once the domes are off, you’ll usually see multiple seedlings per pod. To give each plant enough space and nutrients:
- Keep no more than 3 seedlings per pod
- Preferably thin down to 1-2 strong seedlings per pod for best results
- Remove the smaller or weaker sprouts
🥗 Bonus Tip:
Don’t waste the thinned seedlings—they make great microgreens! Add them to your salad, sandwich, or smoothie for a fresh, nutritious boost.
Keeping an eye on your plants during these early stages sets the tone for a productive growing cycle. Let the app guide you, and if you’re ever unsure—reach out to our support team at support@plantaform.com.
